Sports Rehab

Sports rehabilitation is a specialized therapy aimed at addressing injuries related to sports activities. Industrial Rehab

Built to meet the needs of the workplace, Comprehensive Occupational Management and Prevention® is a full-spectrum industrial strength program that takes a revolutionary approach to workers’ compensation claims. If a worker’s job requires them to handle truck tires, push or pull pallet jacks, or shovel rocks, JCMG therapists can replicate the duties involved while addressing every aspect from prevention to injury resolution.

Balance (Vestibular) Rehab

Dizziness, vertigo, and balance issues can truly interfere with quality of life. Our balance program not only identifies but provides a plan and treatment to correct the source of the problem.

Individuals having problems related to dizziness and balance will likely benefit from balance therapy. Treatments may involve manual therapy and exercise-based therapy to help improve the vestibular balance system, while other exercises may be needed to improve balance control and reduce the risk of falling.

Balance disorders are one of the most common diagnoses for hospital admission in individuals over 65 years of age. If any of the vision, inner ear, or muscular systems in the body are not working properly, imbalance can occur. The therapists at JCMG Physical Therapy have the tools and training to accurately identify the source of imbalance/vertigo as well as develop a customized rehab program to treat patients with balance issues and resolve their symptoms.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling involves placing a fine needle into a muscular trigger point (MTrP) with the intent of causing the muscle to contract and release, in an attempt to stimulate healing and assist with decreasing pain. Dry Needling can be a powerful adjunctive treatment with physical therapy.

Dry needling can help reduce inflammation, decrease muscle tension, and ultimately relieve pain. A fine needle is placed into a muscular trigger point. Trigger points can make it painful to perform everyday activities and often radiate pain to other areas of the body. Once the needle is positioned, the muscle is able to contract and release.

This practice can help treat a number of ailments, including: pain in the neck, back, hip or knee; muscle strains or spasms; sciatica; tendonitis; sports-related injuries; headaches and whiplash; TMJ or facial pain; or Plantar Fasciitis.
